Mathieu Saïkaly is an explorer. What characterizes his research are his melodies and his choices of arrangements, atypical in the landscape of the French pop.
At 20 years old, in 2014, he leaves his room. The world exists! Where to start? Some friends advised him to register for the Nouvelle Star. Without thinking too much, he goes and ends up winning by singing his greatest inspiration in the final, Elliott Smith. He was signed to a major label, and released his first album in 2015, A Million Particles, whose track From Glass To Ice has over 4 million listens on Spotify. At 24, he goes independent to make his 2nd album and sets up his own label. It’s a new start, a new bet, a new research. Quatre Murs Blancs is released in Autumn 2019, whose title Mama Oh I Swear has more than 400,000 listens to date. An album immersed in intimacy, where in the manner of the impressionists and their paintings, he places emotion in the foreground rather than history, and lets the listener freely put his ear where he wants. At 27 years old, the mind gets bigger. Always an explorer, looking for a stronger way to capture emotions, he releases in 2020 two intimate and raw tracks, ‘My Pride’ and ‘If it’s all a choice’, then ‘Plus jamais te revoir’ in February 2021, with which he opens a new door, diving into the depths of electro to bring out new unexplored shades. The new EP ‘Respirations’ is composed of 5 tracks which have for starting point, as the title indicates it, the breathing. It is thus used throughout through loops, rhythmic assemblies or small events. It is an EP which mixes the genres appreciably, in the way of Atoms For Peace, Bon Iver or Lali Puna.

Toujours explorateur, à la recherche d’une manière toujours plus forte de saisir les émotions, il sort en 2020 deux morceaux intimes et bruts, ‘My Pride’ et ‘If it’s all a choice’, puis ‘Plus jamais te revoir’ en Février 2021, avec lequel il ouvre encore une nouvelle porte, plongeant dans les profondeurs de l’électro pour en sortir de nouvelles teintes inexplorées. Elle est donc utilisée tout au long à travers des boucles, des assemblages rythmiques ou des petits évènements.
