Paris based musician Mackenzie Leighton invites us into her indie-folk universe with her tender voice and delicate yet vibrant guitar work. She released her solo self-titled EP in December 2017 after moving to Paris and played her first solo tour in Italy in October 2018. She continues to make a name for herself in France, playing on numerous Parisian stages and opening for notable acts like Lucy Dacus, Jordan Mackampa and Hannah Cohen. In 2020, she released her mini-album ‘Tourist(e)’, followed by the sublime « Fleuriste » in June 2021.
« Fleuriste » marks a turning point for the emerging artist Mackenzie Leighton with her multiple faces : florist by day, musician by night, American first, French at heart. Her realities merge in this new project where more than half of the songs are now written in French. She addresses the reality of being a musician during a period without concerts, but always with optimism and hope.
« Fleuriste » is the synthesis of the life of a musician in danger who adapts and clings to small pleasures more than before. She dreams of a shiny future with the sweet sounds of fresh synths and groovy bass lines.
