Elie is the project of a young French woman with a very singular voice that concretizes her passion for music and singing. This adventure starts during her piano lessons in the Netherlands where she spent part of her childhood; a talented teacher who sings the Beatles and the Eagles at each lesson. After several years of jazz training in piano and singing, it is during her exam to enter the conservatory at the age of 14 that she meets her mentor, a musician who is just her eldest, a talented and ambitious multi-instrumentalist. Two different musical worlds that form a duo: the chemistry is strong, the respect is shared, the resulting confidence motivates her to perform and conforts her in her desire to compose and interpret. In July 2022, she flew to Montreal where she joined her producer, mentor and lifelong friend Emanuel Alias with whom she recorded her first EP in his recording studio in Rosemont. In a neo-soul-pop vibe, with an off beat rhythmic, she approaches the writing not by the piano but by old synths that remind her of soul standards such as Etta James or Aretha Franklin but also of the new school such as Nai Palm, Magie Merlin or Leif Vollebekk. This collaboration leads to the creation of 4 tracks, each with a unique identity, and telling various anecdotes of her life

Elie c’est le projet d’une jeune française avec un timbre de voix bien singulier qui concrétise sa passion pour la musique et le chant. Comme toute grande aventure, celle-ci démarre durant son cours de piano aux Pays-Bas la où elle a passé une partie de son enfance; un professeur talentueux qui chante les Beatles et les Eagles en boucle à chaque cours. Après plusieurs années de formation Jazz en piano et chant, c’est lors de son concours d’entrée au conservatoire à l’âge de 14 ans qu’elle rencontre son mentor, un musicien tout juste son ainé, multi-instrumentiste talentueux et plein d’ambition. Deux univers musicaux différents qui forment un duo: l’alchimie est forte, le respect est partagé, la confiance résultante la motivant à se produire et la confortant dans cette envie de composer et interpréter. En juillet 2022, elle s’envole pour Montréal ou elle rejoint son producteur, mentor et ami de toujours Emanuel Alias avec qui elle enregistre son premier EP dans son studio d’enregistrement chez lui à Rosemont. Dans une vibe néo-soul-pop, avec une rythmique off beat, elle aborde l’écriture non pas par le piano mais par des vieux synths qui rappellent son inspiration des standards de soul tel que Etta James ou Aretha Franklin mais également de la nouvelle école comme Nai Palm, Magie Merlin ou Leif Vollebekk. Cette collaboration mène à la création de 4 titres ayant chacun une identité unique, et racontant diverses anecdotes de sa vie.
