A second single from Magon’s upcoming album! « Egyptian Music » is an enchanting journey into the twists and turns of the Franco-Israeli’s beautiful songwriting.

« Each verse of the song is a poem that I wrote at different times. I wrote the first one on a bus on the way to Binic Festival thinking about my grandmother’s house when I was a teenager and she listened to a lot of Egyptian music. The second poem was written the night my girlfriend returned from a family trip to Miami, where I missed her so much. And the third one, on the way to Charles de Gaulle airport, this time to accompany my girlfriend who was going to Peru for 7 weeks. I composed the song about a year after writing these poems, while Alexa was pregnant with our first child and I wrote the choruses while thinking about the baby, floating in this strange and mystical world of amniotic fluid. »

« Chaque couplet de la chanson est un poème que j’ai écrit à différents moments. J’ai écrit le premier dans un bus sur le chemin vers Binic Festival en pensant à la maison de ma grand-mère à la période où j’étais adolescent et où elle écoutait beaucoup de musique égyptienne. Le deuxième poème a été écrit la nuit du retour de ma petite amie d’un voyage en famille à Miami, où elle m’a tellement manqué. Et le troisième, en route vers l’aéroport Charles de Gaulle, cette fois pour accompagner ma copine qui partait 7 semaines au Pérou. J’ai composé la chanson environ un an après avoir écrit ces poèmes, alors que Alexa était enceinte de notre premier enfant et j’ai écrit les refrains en pensant au bébé, flottant dans ce monde étrange et mystique du liquide amniotique. »
