DG Solaris is the project of musician Danny Green. Danny was raised in the wilds of West Yorkshire and started writing songs at 13. He rejected the standard late-’90s diet of Britpop and Grunge in favour of the Leeds ‘LS6’ postcode scene, where he discovered post-rock, improvised noise, ambient minimalism and leftfield guitar pop. Gradually, Danny developed the confidence to make songwriting the central feature of his life. A ten year period followed from 2008-2018, where Danny released music under the name Laish, delivering four albums of wry, extravagantly-orchestrated chamber pop. Lacing earworm hooks with affectionate lyrics, Laish songs were hallmarked with a matter-of-fact cynicism and unashamed good humour. As a performer, Danny is a rakish front man, making the audience laugh in one song and reducing them to bittersweet tears the next. Danny is releasing a series of singles during 2021, and has just launched a new Youtube channel of live performances called ‘Songs from the Blue Room’.

Les chansons de Laish sont empreintes d’un cynisme de bon aloi et d’une bonne humeur non dissimulée. En tant qu’interprète, Danny est capable de faire rire le public dans une chanson et pleurer à la suivante. Il va sortir une série de singles en 2021, et vient de lancer une nouvelle chaîne Youtube de performances live appelée « Songs from the Blue Room ».
