Luis Malapa, aka Le Roi Luis is emerging in the musical landscape with a new sound and personality.
Producer, author, composer (for himself or others), performer, DJ, King Luis swings between reggae, soul, afro beat and Brazilian music, all this with an urban touch. Original songs, adaptations of Jamaican or African standards, everything is a pretext to make the body move to the same rhythm as the mind. His texts, light as bubbles, poetic or deep, never leave you indifferent. His voice links him to the reggae and soul crooners. Some even compare him to Henri Salvador. The Caribbeans are never far for King Luis who holds to the word « Creole » to qualify his music. It is logical for this artist who comes from a family whose roots are equally in Africa and Europe, and who considers himself above all Parisian. Producers of the first French rap compilation in the 90s, his parents paved the way for him even if he now follows his own path.
It is in his studio in the North-East of Paris, that he works on his own compositions and those of the numerous artists with whom he collaborates (Rad Cartier, Myra, Omran, Bruni, Sonia Bonny, 1D1R, Theedian etc). Co-founder of the rising DJ duo Sancho & Pancho, he also exercises his art to make dancehall, reggaeton, Brazilian funk, afrobeats fans dance, in parties that Sancho & Pancho organize alone or with other collectives. He also remixes titles of recognized artists (Oboy, Niska, Gazo, Koba) to play them on radio and on stage. Be ready to embark on new adventures with King Luis.
