Montreal-based jazz-rap singer and songwriter L.Teez is a one-of-a-kind artist with a unique style. He is the product of different cultures, his father being from Quebec of Kabyle descent and his mother Chinese and Jamaican. He mixes sharp rap styles to create a universe of his own, between avant-garde jazz and old school hip hop, between Tyler The Creator, Flying Lotus and Pusha T.
He played until 2018 on the stages of Canadian and French festivals. He also opened for Guts Live and Black Star at the Festival Jazz à Vienne and Earth, Wind and Fire at the mythical venue of L’Olympia in Paris.
L.Teez launched his first project in 2018, The Half Full EP, earning him some nice mentions in Quebec media. A mini Asian tour follows: Shibuya Showcase Festival (Tokyo), Zandari Festa (Seoul and Busan). In 2019 he confirms his success in Quebec at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Quebec City Summer Festival and the Montreal Fashion & Design Festival.
Signed on Hidrophonik Records since 2020, the young artist is preparing a new EP of which he unveils this April 1st an extract, « Waves ».
