Sam Tabasi is an Irish-Persian composer and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. Mostly known for his work under Indie-Dance-Pop project Glassio, for which he has garnered over 20 million streams online, this project marks the beginning of a new venture into therapeutic and meditative music for the seasoned producer.“I wanted to make records that could literally help calm me down,” says Sam.
“I have lived with panic disorder on and off for many years now, and have found that making this type of music is hugely impactful. It helps me with my mindfulness and embracing the moment without wanting to jump all over the place.”
“Grand Central” is the first single from the project. On one side, it is an ode to the iconic train station in the heart of New York City; on the other, an allusion to finding peace within yourself in a space that is often filled with noise and stress. “I wanted this track to be the type of track that forces you to breathe and listen to yourself in moments that feel impossible to do so…like standing in the middle of Grand Central station. I had a panic attack in Grand Central back in college that I won’t ever forget. I remember just telling myself at the time to ‘listen to the furthest sound…to try and find the sound of the trains at their stations’ as an anchor for myself. That’s what I wanted to achieve with this recording.”
Aside from touring internationally with Glassio and achieving worldwide acclaim over the past 7 years, Sam Tabasi has spent much of his time writing and producing with other artists such as Warner Case, French Horn Rebellion and Clubhouse in the Indie-Pop and Dance spheres. He also produces visuals for artists like Senri Oe, Sea Glass and Loren Beri.

Cela m’aide à être attentif et à profiter de l’instant présent sans avoir envie de sauter partout » « Grand Central » est le premier single du projet. D’un côté, il s’agit d’une ode à la gare emblématique située au cœur de la ville de New York ; de l’autre, il s’agit d’une allusion à la recherche de la paix intérieure dans un espace qui est souvent rempli de bruit et de stress. « Je voulais que ce morceau soit le type de morceau qui vous oblige à respirer et à vous écouter dans des moments qui semblent impossibles à faire… comme se tenir au milieu de la gare de Grand Central. J’ai eu une crise de panique à Grand Central à l’université que je n’oublierai jamais. Je me souviens m’être dit à l’époque qu’il fallait « écouter le son le plus éloigné… essayer de trouver le son des trains dans leurs gares », comme un point d’ancrage pour moi-même. C’est ce que j’ai voulu faire avec cet enregistrement ».
