Chrystelle has got a little something of folk singers of yesteryear, those who touch with the clarity of their voices and the poetry of simple words. Her alternative French Variety project is reminiscent of Yseult or Janie, with a hint of the Orient. Under the artistic direction of Johsef (Terrenoire, Céline Dion…), Chrystelle writes intimate words on sometimes harsh themes from which she would like to bring out the poetry. The production is sober and modern, stripped of artifice, in this face-to-face encounter with herself, the singer lets her « poetry of solitude » shine through. Chrystelle grew up between France, Lebanon and the Ivory Coast, 3 cultures that inspire her musicality. After releasing a debut album with her first band Hushh in 2015 on My Major Company (with Yseult on backing vocals), Chrystelle became Pascal Obispo’s Mary Magdalene in 2017 for his musical Jesus. In 2020 she studied music business at Berklee College of Music to create her own label Grand Méchant Loup, on which she signed her first solo project.
